Geeks Win the Day
July 23, 2010
You’ve all heard of Fred Phelps and his merry band from the Meth-Cooking Chromosome-Damaged Church of the Testors-Huffing KrazeeKhrist — aka, the Westboro Baptist Church — and their penchant for showing up at funerals and other occasions with placards announcing GOD HATES FAGS and similarly charming messages.
Well, the whole hookworm-infested clan showed up at Comic-Con to stage one of their hatenannies. Call it Invasion of the Pellagra People. Only the geeks were ready, and the geeks punked them. Read about it here.

Dear Steven,
Hope all is well. My name is James King. I am the editor/publisher for TheJerseyReport.com, NJ’s newest online news website. The Jersey Report features New Jersey in three categories:
1. Government – News about NJ’s local and state governments. From Windsor Heights possibly privatizing their police force to the state take over Atlantic City.
2. We The People – News about NJ Citizens doing amazing things, getting involved, and making their voice heard. From a teenage life guard saving a baby in Ewing to the citizens of Lambertville weighing in on the immigration debate happening across the country.
3. Everything Else – News from NJ that covers sports, entertainment, tech, and well, everything else.
All three categories will feature stories that have statewide appeal. Local muggings, robberies, school performances, and other community type news will not be featured. From Cape May to Montvale, readers have a one stop shop for NJ new stories that matter to us all, no matter what part of the state you live in.
I am writing you today to introduce myself, our publication, and also to see if we can arrange a link exchange. The Opinion Mill already has a link on thejerseyreport.com home page.
Thank you for your time and I look forward to speaking with you. Have a great day!
Sincerely,
James King
