Menendez is in

November 7, 2006

AP and CNN have called the New Jersey Senate race for Bob Menendez. Good. The job is now his as long as he wants it. Kid Kean had nothing to run on but weaseltude and bedtime stories about Hudson County corruption. Hard to get voters worked up over Frank Hague when a good chunk of the Republican leadership are either under investigation or resigning in disgrace.

Ayatollah Santorum and Congresswoman Ring-a-Ding-Ding are sooo outta there. Lil’ Ricky, the number three Republican, was Number Two in the eyes of voters. Thank God he’s done. I’m pretty sure God would agree.

But I have to say I’ll miss that ring-a-ding-ding thing Katherine Harris did so well. Whatever else happens, I’m sure she’ll wear something fabulous for her concession speech.

Note to members of the Democratic Lassitude Council: Menendez opposed the Iraq invasion early and often. He made it the central theme of his Senate campaign, and he clobbered Kid Kean, whose rhetorical backflips over the war will surely win him a job with the Flying Wallendas.

Here beginneth the lesson.

  1. Chucky Says:

Menendez voted “yes” for the Military Commissions Act — which revokes civil liberties and gives Bush unlimited power.

Menendez voted “yes” for bottomless war spending — which passed 100-0.

That is why I didn’t vote for him.

  2. Scott Stiefel Says:

Slight correction: Santorum is #2 plus lube (e.g. K-Y Jelly).
