Foggy Pundit Breakdown

April 26, 2007

I’ll say this much for David Broder: the drowsy dean of the Beltway pundits is consistent. He was just as wrong about Vietnam in the 1960s as he is now about Iraq. Read this October 1969 column, substitute “George W. Bush” and “Iraq” for “Richard M. Nixon” and “Vietnam,” check out this gallery of recent Broder quotes, then ask yourself if obeisance to power isn’t the key to his worldview.
