Orc Money

June 3, 2007

Since I’m a complete fool for Peter Jackson’s film version of The Lord of the Rings, I’m slightly appalled to learn that Weta, the Jackson-sponsored effects shop that brought Middle-earth to life, has hired out to a couple of kooks who want to build a creationist “museum” in New Zealand.

I know J.R.R. Tolkien presented his novel as an epic of mankind’s prehistoric rise to domination of the earth, but he never pretended the story was anything but fiction. I also know that while creation science advocates are fakes, their money is real, and there are only so many big special effects movies around to pay the bills. But this is truly siding with the orcs.

I’m disappointed in you guys. That’s all I can say. Here’s An Index to Creationist Claims that gives snappy responses to the mind-numbingly stupid claims made by the Christianist orcs, so you can see for yourselves.
