The ‘Ownership Society’ Made Simple

For a while, King George II tried to leave his mark on history by talking up “the ownership society,” his macabre funhouse version of the New Deal. Josh Marshall quickly redubbed it the “you’re on your own-ership society,” and it subsequently became clear that instead of leaving his mark on history, Bush was going to settle for leaving lots of stains.
