Your Dinner Plate of Hot, Steaming Stupid

March 11, 2008

Let P.Z. Meyers introduce you to Florida Republican Alan Hays, who is co-sponsoring legislation that is supposedly needed to protect teachers from reprisals if they want to question Darwin and evolutionary theory in the classroom:

”I want a balanced policy. I want students taught how to think, not what to think,” Hays says. “There are problems with evolution. Have you ever seen a half-monkey, half human?”

How nice — a man in need of remedial science education is trying to influence educational policy.

And, because no dinner is complete without a vegetable, here’s a side order of Ben Stein.

“Have you ever seen a half-monkey, half human?”

No, but I just heard one speak!

  2. geoff Says:

I’ve never seen a half-monkey, half-human. But I’ve seen many humans that share more than 95% of their DNA with chimpanzees.

Unfortunately, some humans have about as much horse sense as chimps.

All these doofi accomplish is making Florida students stupider and unqualified for jobs of the future. Hey, but that makes less competition for NJ students!
