Can’t Hardly Wait

September 24, 2008

The Boy Emperor is going to toddle out in front of the cameras tonight and deliver a speech demanding that Congress stop quibbling over details and give the Hole In The Budget Gang the $700 billion it wants without any strings attached.

Remember how the little snotball talked in 2004? “I earned capital in this campaign, political capital, and now I intend to spend it. It is my style.” I can’t wait for Mr. 24% to try and use his leverage.

Too bad this kind of skepticism didn’t greet Bush five years ago, but I’m happy that questions are finally in the air. I know it’s too much to hope Bush will be greeted by a shower of rotten fruit, but miracles have been known to happen.

  1. And why did he decide to do this now? Did he think the economy was going to magically repair itself in the past ten days?

A responsive president would have stepped right in, taken the blame and proposed a solution. Instead, we get someone who waits until things are so bad that Congress feels pressure to pass any cockeyed plan they are presented. And then they get blamed for putting us in this mess.

I can’t help but think that things would be better if Bush continued doing what he is best at: ignoring the problem. At least then he won’t make things worse.

  2. Chucky Says:

Public sentiment is far and away AGAINST the bailout …

Congressmen are speaking out AGAINST the bailout and for good reason …

At the same time WaMu got shut down by the feds after an old-fashioned bank run …

    Woo-hoo woo-hoo-hoo!

This is a business transaction with tax payer monies. Tax payers should be treated as investors! It’s about time the middle class gets a dividend on their hard work of building this great economical country.
