Zbig Fun

December 31, 2008

Let’s start the last day of 2008 with a bit of lowdown fun as former national security Zbigniew Brzezinski smacks around winger hack Joe Scarborough during a talk about the ongoing horror in the Middle East. Brzezinski, a courtly and diplomatic man, tries to school Scarborough in a gentlemanly fashion, but finally gets tired of the hack’s blowhard spinning and says, “You know, you have such a stunningly superficial knowledge of what went on that it’s almost embarrassing to listen to you.” Scarborough’s petulant response is worth noting as well.

That’s his daughter sitting next to Joe, isn’t it? She looks like she’d like to crawl under the table.

It seems like the 24/7 media has a policy of hiring the mentally challenged. Between the cretins at FauxNews and the various bobbleheaded commentators on CNNMSNBC, the industry appears to have exceeded their quota of developmentally handicapped employees.

And yet, in the end, what was accomplished? Do you really think Mr. Scarborough became more thoughtful or resolved to learn anything about anything he fulminates on? It’s fun to see bullies and blowhards get slapped down, but that only hardens their resolve and that of their supporters to fight against the eggheads and intellectuals that held them back all those years in high school. People like to listen to idiots like that – it feeds their own insecurities and prejudices. Few of us like the reasonable, thoughtful commentator when the ranting, hateful, simpleminded ‘us vs. them’ talker can reduce a complicated situation to half a sentence. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to have a couple beers and go watch me some WWF.

I’m surprised that Scarborough, who gets his info from mainstream media – duh – is still on the air.

What a rude little pissant is he.
